Respect Booking Terms and Conditions for Training Courses and Events

1. Introduction

By booking a place on a training course/event or event organised by Respect (hereafter referred to as "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to abide by these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking.

2. Bookings

• All bookings must be made through our website or designated contact channels.
• Your booking will be confirmed via email upon receipt of full payment or a valid purchase order.
• Places are limited and subject to availability.

3. Payment Terms

• Payment must be made within 30 days of receiving the invoice or before the course/event/event start date, whichever is sooner.
• Payments can be made via debit/credit card, BACS transfer, or PayPal.
If payment is not received by the specified date, we reserve the right to deny your attendance at the course/event.
• The discounted prices for Respect member tickets are valid as long as the membership of participants who have booked them is also valid on the date of the booked training course/event. If an organisational or an individual membership has lapsed due to non-payment, cancellation by the member or non-renewal, any places booked for training courses/events with the discounted price will be treated as only partially paid and participants without a valid Respect membership will not be allowed to attend unless the balance between the member and non-member price is paid. If a training place is purchased at a discounted member’s rate without a valid membership in place, there will be no refund issued. Discounted member bookings that have not yet been paid for, but at the time of the training course/event a participant’s membership is not valid and they do not pay the balance, are still liable to pay the full amount.

4. Cancellation by Participant

• If you need to cancel your booking, you must let us know by email. Depending on how many days before the course/event start date you cancel a booking, the following cancellation terms apply:
o Cancellations made 30 days or more before the course/event start date will receive a full refund if a payment has been made. If payment has not been made yet Respect will write off the invoice and you will not need to make a payment.
o Cancellations made between 15 to 29 days of the course/event start date incur a 50% cancellation fee.
If payment has been made by the time Respect is notified of the cancellation, we will refund 50% of the paid amount.
If payment has not been made by the time Respect is notified of the cancellation, we will write off the original invoice and issue a new invoice for 50% of the original amount. By booking a place on a training course/event organised by Respect you agree to this.
o Cancellations made within 14 days of the course/event start date: the full amount is due.
If payment has been made by the time Respect is notified of the cancellation, we will not refund the paid amount.
If payment has not been made by the time Respect is notified of the cancellation, the full amount will be due.

By booking a place on a training course/event organised by Respect you agree to this. Non-payment in this case will be a breach of contract that may result in legal action. Respect reserves the right to pursue all available legal remedies to enforce its rights under this agreement.

Non-attendance without notifying Respect following the timeline described above will be treated as cancellation made within 14 days of the course/event start date and thus 100% of the amount will be due.

5. Cancellation or Changes by Us

• We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any course/event at our discretion. If we cancel a course/event, we will offer a full refund or a place on an alternative course/event.
• We will not be responsible for any travel or accommodation costs incurred by participants due to cancellation or rescheduling.

6. Substitutions

• You may substitute another person in your place by providing us with written notice at least 2 days before the course/event start date.
• Substitutes are subject to acceptance by Respect’s training team and must meet any prerequisites for the course/event (for example, an event aimed at facilitators of domestic abuse perpetrator programmes would not be suitable for someone not in this role).

7. Course/Event Content and Changes

• We strive to ensure that all course/event content is correct and up to date. However, we reserve the right to change course/event content or materials as necessary without prior notice.

8. Liability

• We will not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury incurred as a result of attending our training course/events unless caused by our negligence.
Participants are responsible for their personal property during the course/event.

9. Data Protection

• Any personal information collected during the booking process will be used solely for the purpose of administering the training course/event and will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which can be found here.

10. Intellectual Property

• All materials provided during the course/event are the intellectual property of Respect. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use these materials for commercial purposes without prior written consent.

11. Force Majeure

• We will not be held responsible for any delay or cancellation of a course/event due to circumstances beyond our control, including, but not limited to, natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, or other unforeseen events.

12. Governing Law

• These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

By booking a training course/event with Respect, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
