Karima joined Respect in 2021, originally leading the communications and policy activity for the Make a Change programme, before moving into the Influence team to work across the full breadth of Respect's projects.

Karima previously worked at Children 1st, Scotland's national children's charity, and is passionate about using communications to amplify and further charitable missions. Alongside her paid work, Karima is part of the volunteer group #MEAction, a grassroots movement advocating for health equity for people living with myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME).

Outside of work, Karima enjoys socialising with friends, particularly over some good food, or curling up with a cup of tea and a book.
