You are invited to apply for the WWP EN Study Visit 2020 “Keeping children safe in perpetrator work – A virtual tour”, which will take place online 10 November, 9.00-13.00 PM (CET) and 11 November 9.00-13.00  (CET).

This online study visit will involve a virtual tour of practice in three countries, involving programmes that successfully address child safety and well-being in their work. The study visit will be interactive and will include personal and in-depth exchanges.

You will learn…

· How the Family Justice Centre in Belgium has partnered up with staff from a Child Advocacy Centre and how they embed good child protection in all their cases (Pascale Franck, Family Justice Center Antwerp, Belgium);

· How the Caring Dads programme challenges fathers to reflect on the effects of domestic abuse on their children and what it does differently to “normal” perpetrator programmes (Dermot Brady, Caring Dads Accredited Trainer, UK);

· How MEND uses their child protection policy in the work with abusive men, and how they keep men from leaving the programme when they report a case to child protection services (John Doyle, MEND, Ireland);

· About other WWP EN members and their process to strengthen child protection in their programmes.

With concrete examples, the presenters will illustrate what it means for a child if their father is involved in a programme with a strong focus on child safety. There will be small group discussions comparing practice.
